This place is a very casual and fast taco shop with generous portions. I love how flavorful and fresh the ingredients are. The shrimp and al pastor tacos were so good, and I wanted more because they had hopped right off the grill.

After seeing that they had an actual pastor spit, I had to order their AL PASTOR SUPER BURRITO ($12.95). I somehow missed that the burrito comes with a spicy red salsa and finely chopped jalapeños, which gave everything a kick that dampened my enjoyment. That said, I won't penalize them for my pitiful spice tolerance, especially because the meat was some of the best pastor I've had around here. I also thought the flour tortilla was above average, and enjoyed the use of melted sliced cheese over traditional shredded. Otherwise, everything else was standard, with relatively bland rice and beans and indiscernible guac. I also wish the components were a little more evenly distributed rather than having to eat pockets of beans and rice vs flavorful pastor. The portion was solid though and overall made for a satisfying meal.

A gem of a place where you can still get an amazing burrito for as little as $10 (though I'd splurge for the super burrito for $12). In Duboce of all places! All meats are freshly grilled, the cold ingredients are fresh, and the food is all perfectly made to order. Super fast service and absolutely delicious. The salsa bar is perfect as well. I got the Quesadilla El Castillito which to me is basically a super burrito without rice and the super nachos. The quesadilla was great but the super nachos were fantastic. The nachos were loaded with toppings (meat, guac, beans, cheese, sour cream, salsa, etc.) but the chips were thick and sturdy enough so as to not get soggy. Perfectly executed nacho playbook right there.

El Castillito is slowly but surely becoming a regular stop for me. The prices here are lower than those I've seen at other taquerias in the city, and I am able to get my food very quickly after ordering. The reason I keep coming back is for their chicken. The sauce that this place uses for their chicken is so far the tastiest sauce I've had to flavor the chicken. It's a little spicy and packs a lot of flavor. And though I can't actually confirm this, I feel like the flour tortillas they use are ever so slightly softer which is a plus for me. I've also heard that the Al pastor sauce is fantastic as well. Despite the low price, the portions are hefty! I'm always full after eating one of their burritos and the plates are even bigger. Finally, as a cherry on top, on Sundays they put NFL red zone on their TVs!

We got the Al Pastor Super Taco & Al Pastor Super Burrito my boyfriend got the taco and he loved it! It's sooo filling for such a great price. We were thinking it is just a taco but they gave us a good portion size of rice and beans. I got the burrito and this was humongous. I ate it for lunch and dinner lol Total $21

7/10 My go-to place for no frills Mexican street food outside of the Mission El Castillito is a small and unassuming looking spot, but if you're craving classic Mexican street food dishes and the Mission is a bit too far, definitely stop by. They have all the classic options you would expect burritos, tacos, nachos etc and they're all cooked up very quickly. I feel like I can always count on El Castilito for satisfying, reasonably priced bites. My personal favorite are the carnitas nachos, that feel particularly indulgent and come in a sizeable portion smothered in all your preferred toppings.

Solid! We were shopping at the mall across the street when hunger struck! Looking around, I immediately noticed the yellow color of Taqueria El Castillito stood out. The inside space is small but very clean, and plenty of tables and seats are there to choose from. They have a good size menu that has something for everyone. It was not too busy when we walked in, so I quickly placed my order and got busy! The food is good. I enjoyed my burrito. It was done just right! One of the people at the table next to us was busy with a Carne Asada Plate, which looked very good! I asked him about it, and he gave me a big thumbs up, but it was already too late. I was full! Next time!
